Natural materials are not identical
Colour, pattern, small pits and transparency can vary between beads. This is normal for natural materials and gives two bracelets of the same design their own character.
Pictures should therefore be seen as a clear representation of the design, not a promise that every bead is exactly the same.
Trade names, treatments and uncertainty
Many beads are sold under established trade names. Dyeing, heat treatment and stabilisation occur in the industry. If a treatment or exact mineral composition has not been verified, I prefer to say so rather than call the material untreated.
To learn more about a particular stone, visit Pärlro’s stone catalogue, where material information, care and sources are kept separate from traditional symbolism.
Choose for use, not just colour
Think about how often you will wear the jewellery and how carefully you want to handle it. An elastic bracelet is easy to put on, but should not be stretched forcefully over your hand. Coated metal details and certain stone beads are best kept dry.
